If you didn’t know, then I’ll guide you through a basic makeup routine that’s easy, quick, and perfect for the workplace.

I bet this is super easy and won’t take up to 10 minutes to finish. Let’s see how.

How to Apply for a Simple Makeup for Work

Now, let’s talk about some makeup options that you should have while going to work.

Prepping Your Skin

First of all, the skin needs some preparation, before applying any makeup on it. There is a popular belief that ‘cleanliness is cardinal to makeup’ hence the need to clean your skin before putting on any makeup.

First, you need to cleanse your skin using a mild cleanser to help rid your skin of oil as well as dirt. This should be done by applying a lighter moisturizer on the skin since the skin might be a little wet after a shower.

It is very important as it prevents makeup from looking cakey and also does good for your skin.

If you have oily skin use a water-soluble moisturizer or an oil-free moisturizer to avoid the production of more oils on your skin.

For dry skin, it is recommended to select the one with the richness of the formula. Finally, put on some sunscreen because sun protection is important no matter how much of your day is spent in an office.

Light Foundation

Everything has to be simple! You will need to have a light foundation formula or a BB Cream that modifies your skin tones.

BB cream is perfect because it offers moisturizing, coverage, and protection from the sun, all in one product.

I recommend you use a damp makeup sponge or clean fingers when applying your foundation or your cream.

Rub it gently in the face until it is fully blended; ensure that those areas with redness or pimples are covered. If you need more coverage in some areas, you can always use a small amount of concealer.

Concealing Imperfections

Concealer is one of those essential products that every lady whether a novice or a pro should have in her daily makeup regime, especially in the morning.

To do this, make sure to use a creamy concealer to effectively camouflage the dark area under your eyes.

I would suggest you choose a concealer that is a color lighter than your skin tone.

Just bear in mind here that it has to be light, just enough to minimize imperfections without making your face appear too made up.

How to Use Powder

If you have oily skin or if you find that your face gets oily easily, then you should use setting powder to keep your face smooth.

But, you have to pay most of your attention to the T-area, which is the forehead, nose, and chin. These are the areas that are most affected by oily skin.

Applying powder is as easy as ABC. I believe you did that while you were a kid. It’s advisable to apply powder gently with a fluffy brush. You don’t have to layer it up, just enough to hold your foundation.

Soft Eyebrows

Getting the shape of eyebrows right can make a huge impact in providing structure to your face and carrying off an outfit.

All you need for work is a natural look with perfectly groomed eyebrows. A brow pencil or brow powder will be great as a tool for filling in any of the blank areas.

It’s okay if they are not perfect, just make sure they are soft and natural-looking.

Matching Eyeshadow

The color selection of your eyeshadow should be reasonable. A light brown color appears to be most suitable for most people. These colors are unnoticed but they aid in creating the look of your eyes.

When doing that, always use a big brush and dust the eyeshadow lightly across your eyelids.

You can apply a slightly darker color to the outer corners of your eyes, but it should be a soft line. The objective is to beautify your eyes.

Quick Mascara Application

Have you heard of Mascara? I explained that in the previous article. But let’s shed more light on it.

Mascara is a type of makeup used for darkening and thickening eyelashes. This is one of the easiest methods to elongate your lashes.

For instance, applying a single coat of mascara will make you have wide open eyes. This technique helps to spar your lashes and gives them a fuller appearance.

Natural Lip Color

When dressing formally, especially in business-related settings, it’s advisable to limit yourself to natural-looking lipstick. It would be best to go for such colors as nude, pink, or a very light peach.

If you go for lipstick or lip-gloss ensure that it will not need reapplication during the day.

Finishing Touches

After applying your makeup, take some time to look at yourself in the mirror and see if everything is in order.

You can use a setting spray to keep the makeup intact. Of course, you wouldn’t want to redo your makeup in the middle of the day.

Setting spray is very useful when you have a long day at work or if you are someone who sweats a lot.

They might sound simple, but they go a long way in determining the longevity and finish of your makeup by the end of the day.

Conclusion

A simple work routine makeup doesn’t have to take you much time or effort. All you have to do is to get things rightly done; of course, that’s why I wrote this article.

Then, focus on a few key products, they will help to achieve a natural and professional makeup. This routine will prepare you for the workday and help you look and feel your best.

I hope this helps. You can drop your suggestions and observations in the comments section.
